Amazon.com Product Description
For reliably clean floors including sealed hardwood, tile, and linoleum, this award-winning floor-washing robot can handle up to 500 square feet on a single battery charge. Its four-stage cleaning process includes the prep stage, which picks up dirt, sand, and crumbs; the washing stage, which uses only clean solution (mops just spread around dirty water); the scrubbing stage, which removes dirt, grime, and stuck-on messes; and the drying stage, which squeegee lifts dirty water from floors. The cleaning machine uses clean tap water, a water and vinegar mixture, or deep-cleaning, fresh-scented Clorox Scooba cleaning solution. In addition, it avoids carpets, rugs, ledges, and stairs thanks to its cliff-sensing technology. The unit conveniently self navigates throughout each room cleaning beneath cabinet edges, tables, chairs, and other hard-to-reach places. The robot's autonomous cleaning pattern covers each area of floor an average of five times, and one full tank washes up to 250 square feet before it requires refilling. Accessories include one 8-ounce bottle of Clorox Scooba cleaning solution, a measuring cup, a suction bulb (to prep and maintain the pump), an APS battery, a power supply and charging base, a storage mat, and an owner's guide. One Virtual Wall also comes included to mark off-limit areas with an infrared beam that the robot will not cross (requires two D batteries, not included). The floor-washing robot measures 14-3/4 by 14-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches and carries a one-year warranty.

Great little machine![]()
I actually own the 380 model. I consider my floor clean only if I was on my hands and knees cleaning the floor. With four boys it is a everyday affair and I always do not have the time or energy to scrub my floors.
I put the scooba to a test after a day of spilled tea and sugar on the floor along with the muddy footprints. I swept the floor and set it loose. It cleaned up everything, even the areas that I missed from the broom. The only areas the scooba does not clean are corners, but it will free up your time to clean other areas in the house.
Check your floors first....![]()
This is a great concept, but did not work for my floors. Product is not safe for laminate wood flooring, which is what I turned out to have. Also, my tile floors are white with deep white grout lines, and the dirty water tended to pool in the grout lines. However, I could see this being a great product for other types of hardwood and tile/linoleum floors - just not a great fit in my case.
iRobot needs to redesign this product for less than glass-smooth floors![]()
Being the VERY happy owners of a Roomba 415 we excitedly bought a Scooba in order to eliminate this other most odious chore.
The promise was wonderful... better mopping than us mopping WITHOUT us mopping.
Unfortunatelly reality set in. While this device MAY work as advertised on wood floors, or perfectly smooth tile floors, it is a DISASTER on our Saltillo (mexican tile) floor. Roomba has no problems climbing up and down our kids' playmat which is about 1/2 inch thick ... scooba not only can't handle that... it can't even handle the natural unevenness of our floor. It keeps getting stuck and we have to restart it.
My guess is that iRobot designed Scooba this way in order to prevent it from climbing up on (and wetting) area rugs. If that's the case then iRobot should redesign the device so that the owner can push a button that reads "Climb everywhere" that allows scooba to operate on the same *terrain* as Roomba for people with uneven floors and no area rugs.
Most amazing, Scooba wasn't even able to operate on our kids' playmat... this is a rubber floor with very very minor bumps... no go. Scooba would slip and slide and get stuck there too.
I guess we'll wait for the next iteration.
WE DEFINITELLY RECOMMEND THE ROOMBA THOUGH!
